Assistant Librarian Position

Qualifications:

1. **Educational Background**:

- Possession of a Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, Documentation Science, or an equivalent professional degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade where a grading system is applicable).

2. Academic Record:

- A consistently strong academic record with proficiency in library computerization.

3. Eligibility Tests:

- Successful qualification in the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or an equivalent test accredited by the UGC such as SLET/SET, or possession of a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the “University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009 or 2016” and subsequent amendments.

- Candidates enrolled in a Ph.D. program prior to July 11, 2009, are subject to the regulations in effect at the time of their registration. Such candidates are exempt from the NET/SLET/SET requirement for recruitment as an Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in universities/colleges/institutions, provided the following conditions are met:

- The Ph.D. degree was awarded in regular mode.

- The Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners.

- An open Ph.D. viva voce was conducted.

- The candidate published two research papers from their Ph.D. work, with at least one in a refereed journal.

- The candidate presented at least two papers based on their Ph.D. work at conferences/seminars sponsored, funded, or supported by the UGC, ICSSR, CSIR, or similar agencies.

Notes:

- The fulfillment of these conditions must be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the respective university.

- The NET/SLET/SET requirement is waived for Master’s programs for which these tests are not conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or equivalent accredited tests.

Library Attendant

Age: 32 years

Educational Qualifications:

i) Completion of 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.

ii) Certificate course in Library Science from a recognized institution.

iii) One year of experience in a library at a university, college, or educational institution.

iv) Basic proficiency in computer applications.

The deadline for online submission of the application form and payment of the application fee is 16th August, 2026.

A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1000/- must be paid online via the payment gateway by candidates in the UR, EWS, and OBC categories for Post Serial Numbers 01 – 07, and Rs. 500/- for Post Serial Numbers 08 – 16.

No application fee is required from candidates in the SC, ST, PwBDs categories, Ex-servicemen, and women candidates. However, a fee of Rs. 200/- is applicable for postal expenses.
